My Testimony I was not born in a "Christian" home and I was not raised in a "Christian" family. I was raised as a typical American kid growing up in the late 80's and early 90's. Somewhere around eighth grade I started smoking cigarettes and had my first experience with marijuana. And so began my experience of drug use which continued for over four years until I met a King that set me free! By the time of my senior year in High School my parents had divorced and I had become heavily involved with gang life on the streets of Decatur, Illinois. My use of drugs had grown and expanded over the past four years to now include shrooms, LSD and cocaine. I was living the life! The drugs, the fun, the parties, the cars, the motorcycles, the money, etc… I had it all at eighteen years of age. Until that lifestyle began to catch up with me. During the summer of 1992 I was pulled over for speeding in my Toyota Supra. No problem except one… I did not have my driver's license on me. That gave the officers the right to take me in to the station and tow my car until I could provide proof of my license to drive. Before towing a vehicle they do a standard search which turned up a quarter of pot and seventeen hits of LSD. |
